Seven Youths Drown in Rajasthan’s Banganga River, One Escapes
In a tragic incident in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, seven young men drowned while bathing in the Banganga River. The accident occurred when a group of eight youths from Srinagar village went to the river for a swim. One by one, the young men, including three cousins, slipped into deep water and tragically drowned, according to police reports cited by PTI.
The victims have been identified as Lakkhi Jatav (20), Bhupendra Jatav (18), Shantanu Jatav (18), and Pawan Jatav (22). The three cousins who lost their lives were Pawan Singh Jatav (20), Saurabh Jatav (18), and Gaurav Jatav (16).
“Seven youths, including three cousins, drowned in the deep water while one managed to escape,” said Bayana Sadar SHO Balram Yadav. He noted that villagers arrived at the scene, retrieved the bodies, and notified the police.
The police have since conducted post-mortem examinations, and the bodies have been returned to their families for final rites.
